Bench Joiner – Timber Frame Manufacturing – NG17
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Bench Joiner to join our client, a FTSE 250 five-star homebuilder operating across England, Scotland and Wales.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous joinery, woodworking, timber manufacturing or bench joinery experience to join a well-established business in a factory-based role.
As a Bench Joiner, you will be responsible for manufacturing high-quality timber components, including internal door frames, internal window frames and other timber frame components. You will work from technical drawings and use a range of hand tools, air tools, power tools and machinery to produce accurate components ready for use within the timber frame manufacturing process.

Location: NG17
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour, plus 50p attendance allowance
Total Pay: £14.50 per hour, including attendance allowance
Role Type: Factory / plant-based role
Key Responsibilities
As a Bench Joiner, your duties will include:
- Manufacturing timber components, including internal door frames, internal window frames and other timber frame parts
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans
- Cutting, shaping and assembling timber to exact specifications
- Using hand tools, air tools, power tools and machinery safely and effectively
- Preparing timber components for semi-automated machine installation
- Checking finished products to ensure they meet required quality standards
- Working closely with machine operators, designers and technical teams
- Supporting the timely manufacture of sub-assembly components
- Helping to prevent machine downtime by ensuring components are completed on time
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation
- Following all Environmental, Health and Safety procedures at all times
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in bench joinery, carpentry, woodworking, timber manufacturing or a similar role
- Strong attention to detail and excellent quality standards
- A methodical and organised approach to work
- The ability to read and work from technical drawings
- Experience using hand tools, air tools and power tools
- A positive attitude and willingness to support other team members
- The ability to work in a fast-moving manufacturing environment
- Good computer literacy
- Flexibility with day-to-day duties
