Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accurate processing of accounts payable and maintaining financial records. This position requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of financial services.

The Role:

As an Accounts Assistant, you’ll support the smooth day-to-day running of the finance function. Reporting to the Finance Manager, your work will be integral to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely processing of transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Processing purchase and sales invoices

Reconciling bank accounts and managing petty cash

Assisting with VAT returns and other regulatory submissions

Monitoring and chasing outstanding payments (credit control)

Assisting in preparing monthly management accounts

General ledger maintenance and reconciliations

Supporting internal and external audit processes

Ad-hoc financial and administrative support as needed

What We’re Looking For:

Experience in a similar finance or accounts role

Good understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles

Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks)

Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy

Organised, proactive, and a good communicator

AAT qualified (or studying), or equivalent experience preferred
