Job Overview

We are seeking experienced Warehouse Operatives/Order Pickers for our client’s businesses based in Derby, easily reached form Derby Bus park. In these roles, you will be responsible for accurately picking and preparing orders for shipment, ensuring that products are handled with care and efficiency. As an Order Picker, you will play a crucial part in maintaining a clean and tidy working environment, physically fit to lift and relocate products.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately pick orders based on customer requests and packing lists.
• Utilize handheld scanners or other technology to track inventory and ensure order accuracy.
• Organize and maintain the warehouse space to facilitate efficient picking processes.
• Inspect products for quality before packing to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Liaise with team members to meet daily production goals and deadlines.
• Assist in restocking the warehouse and managing inventory levels as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

Skills

• Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order picking and inventory management.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Basic math skills for counting and measuring items accurately.
• Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts is a plus, but not essential as internal training available for high performers.
• Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
• Physical stamina/fit to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn ensuring our customers receive their orders accurately and on time!
• Any other reasonable warehouse duties requested by management.

Shifts:

As a Warehouse Operative/Order picker you will be required to work flexible working hours from 8 to 12 hours Days or Nights. Priority will be given to applicants who can work flexible hours (up to 12 hours) with no restrictions on shifts.

Pay:

From £12.21 ph to £12.60 ph (30 mins unpaid breaks), weekly pay 1 week in arrears.

• Temp to perm opportunities for high performers, along with the possibility of learning FLT counterbalance (in house) upon successful offer of a full time contract.
