LOCATION: Derby (15 minutes from city centre, 3.5 miles from M1)
HOURS: 7:30am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
PAY: £16.00 – £19.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Frontline Recruitment is proud to be working with an industry leader in automation solutions for the food production sector. We are seeking an experienced CNC Miller & Turner to join their dynamic and innovative team.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for producing precision-engineered components using CNC milling and turning machines, ensuring that every part meets high standards for accuracy, efficiency, and quality.

THE ROLE

  • Set up and operate 3-axis and 4-axis vertical CNC milling machines, including Haas ST-10, ST-30, and Doosan Puma 300L
  • Ensure machines run efficiently with optimized settings for accuracy, finish, and cycle times
  • Perform first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.)
  • Self-inspect components to ensure compliance with tolerances and specifications
  • Conduct regular machine maintenance and ensure a clean, organised work area
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets and delivery deadlines
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience in CNC milling and turning setup and operation
  • Proven expertise with Haas CNC controls and Doosan Puma 300L machines
  • Strong understanding of G-code and M-code (able to read, edit, and troubleshoot programs)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Skilled in selecting tooling and workholding methods for precision machining
  • Competent in using a wide range of inspection and metrology equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and teamwork mindset
