Our client is a FTSE 250 five-star homebuilder, which operates 20 trading divisions across England, Scotland and Wales.
As a bench joiner creates precise wooden components like inner doors frames, inner window frames, timber components in a factory environment, often from technical plans, before they are installed by our semi-automated machines. They use hand, air and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble timber, ensuring high-quality, accurate pieces for construction into our timber frames, a role that differs from carpenters who primarily fit items onsite.
Monday to Friday
37 hours per week
£14.00 per hour plus 0.50p attendance allowance (£14.50 per hour)

Key Responsibility
• Manufacturing Components: Building items like inner doors frames, inner window frames, timber components
• Working from Plans: Interpreting technical drawings to create precise components.
• Tool Proficiency: Operating various hand, air and power tools, including computer-controlled machinery.
• Material Preparation: Cutting and shaping wood to exact specifications, often preparing timber for machine installation.
• Quality Control: Ensuring finished products meet high quality standards.
• Collaboration: Working with other team members like machine operators, designers, and technical.
Environmental, Health and Safety
• Carrying out work safely and in the interests of all employees in accordance with the EHS procedures manual and summarised in the EHS responsibilities matrix.
Measurables
• On time manufacture of sub assembly components
• Prevent machine downtime due to late delivery of assembled components
• Completion of agreed housekeeping activities and controls.
• Ensuring correct Quality standards are achieved.

Person specification:
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Excellent quality standards with a methodical approach to teamwork
• Able to demonstrate an aptitude to learn, be self-motivated and be capable of lending support and encouragement to team members
• Have the capacity to cope with multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-moving environment and with a high commitment to quality
• Be computer literate
• Willing to be flexible in respect to day-to-day duties.
