We are seeking a reliable and experienced licensed Class 2 HGV driver on an ad-hoc basis to cover sickness and holidays. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving, particularly refridgerated vehicles and have a proven track record as a delivery driver. This role involves transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate a refrigerated class 2 vehicle
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
• Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of loads for safe transport.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of mileage, fuel use, and other pertinent information.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the lorry.

Requirements

• Valid UK driving class 2 HGV licence with appropriate classifications for commercial vehicles.
• Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, ideally transporting food items
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism on the road.
• Driven a minimum of 90 days prior to start in HGV2 role
• Over 21 years and no more than 6 points
• Must have an up to date Tacho

Hours

This is an adhoc role which may suit self-employed or limited drivers who are available part-time. 7.30 pm start until finish.

Pay

Self Employed or LTD £18.65 ph

£14.50 ph PAYE

Weekly pay (1 week in arrears)
