Payroll Administrator
Frontline Recruitment Weymouth are looking for a Payroll Administrator in Dorchester, to assist in the efficient running of our client Payroll team, maintaining the highest level of accuracy, customer service and professionalism whilst ensuring the payroll is paid on time, every time, how will need to report to the Payroll Manager.
Key responsibilities:
· Accurately inputting payroll instructions received from agency partners, ensuring the balances input match those sent.
· Identifying duplication errors, either by us or by the recruitment agency partner and highlighting this to the payroll manager
· Processing of weekly advances, including calculating the net payment amount using the correct tax codes, holiday accrual, pension contributions or CIS tax
· Responsible for accurately running weekly payroll by directing the input and calculation of data.
· Following our termination procedures to ensure workers are off boarded effectively.
· Responding to both internal and external queries by email and phone, in a timely manner
· Prepares and uploads various statutory (and internal) reports.
· Ensures our pension responsibilities are legally adhered to.
· Responsible for accurately paying SSP, SPP and SMP to workers.
· Following all processes outlined in the company’s Standard Operating Procedures and ensuring these documents are accurately maintained.
· Assist in training of new staff members within the payroll team.
· To understand the key risks that affect our client and act in a way that protects the companies always interests.
· Proactively seek and recommend enhancements to processes and development.
Requirements:
Essential:
· 5 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade 9 to 4/A+ to C, including English Language and Mathematics.
· Previous experience in an office environment
· Familiar with Excel and basic data manipulation
· Demonstrate a methodical and accurate approach to ensure payroll mistakes are not made.
· Strong interpersonal skills to develop and build effective relationships. This skill is necessary to manage a diverse workforce and deal with sensitive issues.
· Awareness of the impacts of mental health issues on employees.
· Organization skills to effectively prioritise workload and handle multiple demands from team members. It is also useful in conducting meeting with all levels of company employees, including senior management.
· Work effectively as a part of a cross functional team. Strong presentation skills to make presentation of findings and recommendations to senior management and directors.
· Analytical and problem-solving skills: competence to analyse a variety of situations and develop recommendations on the best course of action.
· Proficient IT skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
· Sound judgment to take initiative and apply reasoning and logic to various situations and make viable decisions.
Desirable:
· Knowledge of the umbrella or recruitment industry
· Previous experience in a payroll position.
Package:
Our client is offering a full-time salary of £22,000 to £25,000 per annum (experience dependent), with access to a fantastic range of employee benefits:
