Her Majesty The Queen will celebrate her Platinum Jubilee after marking 70 years of service. The celebration will take place this weekend from the 2nd to the 5th of June. The Queen has ruled for longer than any other Monarch in the British history, she is becoming a much loved and respected figure across the globe.
The Queen’s coronation took place on the 2nd of June 1953, at Westminster Abbey in London.
To celebrate an extra bank holiday has been granted to everybody, to create a four- day weekend.
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations
- Thursday the 2nd of June- Trooping the Colour (The Mall and Horse Guard’s Parade).
- Friday the 3rd of June- Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen’s reign, St Paul’s Cathedral, plus further events.
- Saturday the 4th of June, The Derby, Epsom Downs. Attended by the Queen and members of the Royal family, The Platinum Party at the Palace, will also take place in the evening.
- Sunday the 5th of June, The Big Jubilee Lunch: Street parties to be held up and down the country.
